I used to be on Win98SE. Now I've got WinXP. I've got two
other NTFS partitions for my personal files.

Sometimes I leave my PC over at my friends house when we
play games. I like to secure/hide my personal files from
view whilst allow installation of games and play.

What's the best setup for this? And do I go around doing
this?

"leave".....do not leave your computer with anyone.
even if you have password on your person files someone
might be able to hack into those files.
take your computer with you.
better still get one of these new usb pocket drives and
move personal data to the pocket drive. remove drive
when "leave" your computer.

Since installing games usually means use of an
admin account, there is nothing you can do to
make absolutely certain some personal files are
not available to the account used to install the games.
An account that is admin basically cannot be prevented
from doing whatever it wants, one can only make it a
small bit more difficult/time-consuming.
