help! bad screen saver

hello

my daughter is running xp home and none of her 3D screen
savers will work all that happens is the screen
freezes ,returns to desktop distorted and magnified 10
fold with these messages: microsoft system error.
microsoft windows detected and recovered from a device
failure. please save work and reboot to restore full
functionality. ( plus) could not find any compatible
direct 3D Devices.
im a novice at computing please excuse my ignorance.
any help very much appreciated

Sounds to me like her video card is not capable of 3D

acceleration. Time for an upgrade???
