I backed up folders and files from my hard drive using Nero 6 but when I
Nero 6 should be able to restore the files for you assuming the backup
media is readable? I stopped using "backup" utilities because
after a change in OS or utility the backups might be unreadable by the new
OS or utility. Now I manually copy the the files to CDs.
Full drive compressed mirror image files. The only way to go for
backups. The entire drive is written to another drive, or to
removable media such as CDs or DVDs. You can restore individual
files, or individual folders, anytime you want, to any place you
want to restore them to, and they still remain in the mirror image
file, in case you should happen to screw up. Restoring the entire
drive usually takes less than half an hour (depending on how much
data you've got, of course). Drive Image 7 is great for this. I'm
using it now with Windows XP and it works without problems. It
comes bundled with Drive Image 2002 for those using W98 or W ME.
Get it while you can. Drive Image 7 the last version developed and
marketed by Power Quest -- they sold their souls for pieces of
silver to Symantic.
