sorry about that lack of information.
what I need to know is how can I force my clients to have
a automatically lock computer screen until he logs on
again.
Each station is used by more then 5 ppl at different times
of the day.
In window 2k each profile can be setup differently so how
can i force a screen lock( for example, screensaver) to
come on after a certain time period of no activities to
all my clients with the least amount of contact with the
client?( I have about 100 clients so i would like to know
how to do this with the least amount of time)
articles or steps to accomplish this would be helpful
Thank you for all your help
Jesse
Jesse, maybe I'm being dense, but I'm still confused. It sounds to me
like on one hand, you are saying you'd like to only allow one person to
ever login to a given computer, but then you talk about screen savers
and locking the machine, which applies *after* someone is logged in.
In either case, if it's the latter, you can set the screen saver in a
login script by manipulating the registry via the command line. If
that's what you're interested in, let me know.
If you'd like to say that only user(s) and/or group(s) so can ever log
into a machine, you can do that w/ Local Policies. I've never tried to
set local policies on a remote machine nor am I familiar w/ AD, which
I'm sure I can do this, but if snoop around enough, we can probably find
the registry keys that the Local Policies manipulate to restrict who can
log into that computer.
