I just loaded xp professional. The help and support
feature does NOTHING. when I click on it, I hear the hard
disk move for a second, then nothing.

I have stopped and restarted the help and support service,
I have located and verified that the help.exe file exists.

Anybody know any reasons why this is happening ?

Thanks

To reinstall Help and Support: Go to
C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf. Right click and choose
install. Have your CD handy.

Note: The folder is hidden by default. Go to Start/Run
and type in: control folders. View: Show hidden files and
folders and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types

If it doesn't help go to Start/Run and type in: helpctr -
regserver

Hello,
Thanks for the advise. However, I did all you said, and
it still does the same thing.

I installed pchealth.inf, had to go to the cd like you
said, a bunch of binaries got copied to the
C:\windows\pchealth\binaries directory.

Then I tried it, no joy, then I ran your vb script, then
I ran helpctr - regserver, and it still does the same
thing.

Any suggestions ??

Thank You,
floyd
