HELP AND SUPPORT DONT WORK ON MY PC

When I try to use my help and support program I get the following messages: failed to load vendorprefs; Exception: vendorprefsroot os null or not an object; Exception: type mismatch; PCH settings failed to initialize; Error: Required parameter (SearchCtrlProgId) not found

what is wrong? how do i fix it?
