help and support auto update

When I click on help and support and then on Presario PC Help A Instant Support auto update pops up and statrs downloading package (26k) but it just gets stuck about a 1/4 of the way and never completes. Is this update neccesary? Why does it do this?

I have the same system and the same problem. I spent hours with technical support at HP to no avail. They told me the download was not needed, but never told me what it was. I have researched, tried everything I can think of (and I have 30 years experience in programming, analysis, etc.)
If you find an answer please let me know.
PS: I have manually downloaded all the MS updates and all the HP updates so I am very curious as to what this download is.

I have the same problem. I spent hours discussing with Instant Support at HP to no
avail. I have downloaded all the windows and HP updates so I am curious as to what this one is. HP told me it was not needed, but not what the update was.
