HELP. 554 illegal address syntax: <#[email protected]> Failed

Please Help i get this error when sending from outlook. i can send to this
address Via Valueweb web mail and it works. is there a setting on outlook to
allow it to accept # as a Valid Email Character????

What is the error and what version of Outlook are you using? I just tried
senting a message to an address containing a pound sign (#test@mydomain) and
Outlook 2003 did not complain. I did get a bounce from the receiving
server, though, since I didn't set up any accounts with a pound sign in
them.
 
Yes i am usung Outlook from Office XP. Following is the complete error message.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: test
Sent: 2/1/2005 1:04 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'#[email protected]' on 2/1/2005 1:04 PM
554 illegal address syntax: <#[email protected]> Failed
