HELP---1 account in win xp home isn't right

I was doing some backing up to CD-RW's today in preparation for wiping the HD clean and starting fresh.
When hubby came home and logged into his account, he couldn't access some programs (IE, OE), the graphics looked funny, different colours almost DOS-y.
I deleted the account, recreated it and I still have the same problem.
The other 3 accounts are fine.

My account is the admin, all others are limited users.

Any suggestions?

Your not running in 256 color mode are you. I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about. You might want to try updating your videocard drivers (may remedy the problem). If you are going to wipe the hard drive anyway just try that and see what happens
