Why, if you have a working activated Windows XP Professional SP1 machine,
would you even consider installing over that with an evaluation version of
Windows XP Professional SP2 instead of just updating to Service Pack 2 level
with your current installation?

Again - why? Unless you mean you have an old Beta Version of Service Pack 2
for Windows XP and you, for whatever reason, want to install this beta
version (evaluation) instead of the full-blown Service Pack 2 for Windows
XP.

Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is downloadable - and for many - can be
ordered for free from Microsoft. It is made to update older versions of
Windows XP (including (but not limited to) those with no prior service packs
and those with Service Pack 1 for Windows XP alrwady installed.) If you
have a properly activated and working Windows XP with Service Pack 1 already
applied - why would you want to use an evaluation version of the operating
system with Service Pack 2 integrated into it instead of obtaining Service
Pack 2 for Windows XP on your own and integrating it into your own original
CD yourself and using that to install with?
