Heading level 1 format when reaching double figures

Created a small document < 30 pages but it has many Heading level 1 entries. All is well until reaching the tenth Heading Level 1 entry then the formatting seems to break.

8. Main Heading
8.1. Sub Heading
9 Main Heading
9.1 Sub Heading
10. Main Heading

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Can't see a solution to this
 
You need to modify the Heading 1 numbering to be right-aligned, then modify
the indents for this and other levels accordingly.

Specify a different (larger) distance between the number and the text
for the top-level numbering level. The following article gives precise
details on how to modify an outline numbering scheme in Word:
