I have set up the footer to automatically put in on every word document the page number and where it is saved. This footerappears when I print the document but not when I am viewing it on screen (unless I go to print preview). How can I get round this?

Adding footers to normal.dot causes knock-on effects in other documents. You
will not, for example, be able to format labels correctly. You should
restrict this to document templates and then you can add a macro to update
fields in the form of an autonew macro. However note that a document doesn't
have a name until it is saved so maybe your macro should prompt you to save
it as part of the opening procedure?

First, you do not want given text (including headers and footers) in _every_
word document. You should not have this in your normal.dot template or you
will mess up formatting of automatic documents like labels. Instead, use a
specific document template.

Second, try...
Tools > Options > View
Check the option under Print and Web Layout View options to view white space
between pages. (Word 2002-2003)
