HI
I appreciate everyone who tried to help me last time,
the solution was that my motherboard was too old or needed updating because
my New 320gig hdd was only showing 100gig and no more...

well in the new computer... new hdd new motherboard and cpu and memory and
pretty much everything.... only shows extra 30 gig???

so total is 130 now...
I dont understand

if anyone knows any other solution please let me know

(dont think running service pack 2 for xp is a solution)

It is the most covered issue with hard drives and a simple
search engine produces the answers.
You have formatted the drive in the FAT format.
If you want to remain with the FAT32 format you will have to
partition the drive into sectors of no larger than 127gb each.
For large volume drives in XP it is best to format the drive
in the NTFS file format which will recognise the full capacity
of your drive.

For further info google using terms:
File Allocation Table
FAT32
NTFS
Limitations of FAT32
Convert to NTFS
Format NTFS

I dont use FAT format i use NTFS
But in my case i used the Hdd as a slave and had no operating system and
only showed 100gig few hours ago i installed xp on it on ntfs and shows 130gig

Why don't you check the HDD capacity with the BIOS setup first.

In fact, it is. There is an additional 160 GB internal HDD in my oldest
WinXP SP2 computer - the BIOS shows 127 GB only, however, WinXP SP2 uses
the total size of 160 GB.

Yes, it probably is the solution.

You need two things to support a drive that large:

1. A motherboard with a BIOS and controller that supports 48-bit LBA
(or alternatively, an add-in controller card that does).

2. At least SP1 of Windows XP.

You are missing at least one of these, and since you say all the
hardware is new, it's almost certainly number 2 that you are missing.
