Having little notice that my hard drive was going, I plugged in an Iomega
external HD and went to System Tools..Backup. I backed up 4 gigs of data.
New hard drive, Windows XP Pro loaded, etc., I went to Restore, and restored
4 gigs of data. Outlook 2002 files were there, 760 MBs, because I saw them
moving through the Restore process, but I can't find them on my computer.

Can anyone help? I'm desperate to recoop my Inbox, Contacts and Notes.

By default, your PST is located in a hidden folder: %UserProfile%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Brian, when I click Local Settings and Application Data, it tells me "Access
is Denied." ???

Oh, Brian, you are good, very good. I now see my old inbox folder, but it
has an .msf extension. How do I import it into my current Outlook??

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, but try resetting the folder
names. With Outlook closed, click Start>Run and enter the following in the
Open box:

"%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office10\Outlook.exe" /resetfoldernames

Note the spaces and quotes. They are required.

If that doesn't work, you can create a new PST (File>New>Outlook Data File)
and set it to be your delivery location (Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select
the new PST from the "Delivery new e-mail" drop-down at the bottom left),
stop and then restart Outlook. Then, move the items in the old PST to the
new. After moving, close the old.

Brian,
After further searching I think I've figured out that my .msf extension is
related to Mozilla, which makes sense cause my email is located in
application data/Mozilla/Profiles/j../2ouu6mmu.slt/mail/...server. Don't
know how it got there from Outlook, but I did use Netscape over a year ago,
and maybe location stayed the same when I switched to Outlook???

So I'm thinking I need to download Netscape and try to import the old emails
into there.
