having all my folders display under start/program files.

I had to reinstall windowsxp. All my program folders are still on the hard drive. They do not come up under start/program . Is there a way to get all my old folders to list again under start/program?
 
Evidently you didn't do an upgrade or repair install, whichever applies. To
get your programs back, you'll need to reinstall them all, as the
installation programs update the registry with the information needed to run
them.
