You may be missing some files from your hard drive that allow the computer
to boot. This problem usually occurs when you have the Boot Secter Virus
protection option enabled in the bios, or you installed windows to the 2nd
disk, then removed the 1st disk.
You should boot the computer from the CD and use the System Recovery option
in windows XP setup (search googal for more details), to correct the
problem. Or, you can always reinstall windows.....
The problem is most likely related to the system files, boot loader, or boot
sector....
Unfortunatly, windows NT, 2K and XP do not have a "Sys.com" tool like the
DOS or Windows 9x Operating systems. Perhaps there is a new tool from MS, or
a 3rd party tool I am not aware of.
I knowMicrosoft also provides free support on installation problems &
viruses for many of there products, call and find out if your problems
qualifys 1-(800)-Microsoft
