I installed WinXP in my new Laptop and everything run smooth until I
tried to install the wireless AnyPoint hardware.

I downloaded the last drivers and the Internet Sharing Software from
Intel. After the drivers installation the hardware works fine.
However, when I try to install the network ISS software, WinXP refuses
claiming that "I do not have Administrator privileges", which is
wrong. I tried some tricks. I disabled the welcome window to login
as the default administrator. NOPE the dumb OS still asks for
Administrator privileges. Then I created another admin account with
same results.

The wireless hardware works fine, but have no Internet access unless I
install the ISS software.

Is it necessary to password protect the Administrator account to
perform as a "real" administrator?

Any help please?

It may be, Luis, that the account does need a password. This is a common issue, but I'm not sure that anyone has proposed putting a password on the Administrator (or an Administrator level user) to correct it.

However, why do you need Intel's ISS software? Windows XP support Internet Connection Sharing natively.
