Hello!

I have the Gateway M675X laptop that does have the firewire port. What do I
need to purchase now so I can use Movie Maker to make movies from my Canon ZR
90 Digital Video camcorder? Thanks! Jules

You will need the fire wire cable for the camera, most cameras don't come
with the fire wire cable. Plus you will need lots of time.

Ken is right, you need Firewire which is best, although I heard there are
advances in USB 2.0 if you have that on the laptop which is most likely if
it has Firewire.

If your Gateway has built in Firewire support, then all you need is a
good Firewire cable from your Canon to the Gateway. Firewire cables
are a bit pricey but you can find a good one for around $15 to $20 at
most computer stores.

If you have not updated your machine to SP2, it might be a good time
to do it as SP2 also includes an update to Movie Maker.
