I am trying to figure out my computer registry. I did not set my computer up
.. I am quite new to computers. My computer has another side to it. Or an
other user who controls it. I have tried to check out the registry. I don't
even know if this is where I go to change her settings that allow her to have
access to me, but me be denied access to most of my computer. I have followed
directions which send me to my control panel. Then the option I am told to
click on is not even there. How can I get every option back in the control
panel. I don't have some of the options I need when I go to account users. I
paid 500 dollars to have my computer wiped clean. As soon as I turned it back
on, it seems that there are settings that still overide this. I have run My
recovery media a hundred times. I don't have the original cd's that came with
the computer. They mysteriously disapeared. Can someone show me a way to see
if there is other stuff on this computer. thanks

I am not saying this to hurt your feelings, but the very best solution
for you will be to have a local professional come on-site, set you up
correctly and the way you want, and give you a few lessons. There is no
way you are going to be able to solve this in a newsgroup. It should
not cost $500 to wipe a computer. Not even in New York City which is
expensive.

Format and reinstallation of Windows and Windows Update is about 2 - 3 hours
then loading additional software etc is another 1 hour, pickup and drop off
another 1 hour.

I charge 5 hours standard to pick up and drop off a system that needs
formatting and reinstallation.
I also check the harddrive for bad sectors, memory for errors etc.
My hourly rate in New Zealand is NZ$80 per hour plus GST of $10 = $90 per
hour

I could buy an entire new computer for what you charge for.....whatever the
hell it is you do. I hope your computer work is better than your grammar.
