I have put in a new HD and formatted it using the
software that it came with. I am now trying to install XP
Pro, however when it starts to copy the files, it goes
very very slow. I have done this before, and I know that
it doesnt take this long. This is why I got the new HD in
the first place, because my PC wasnt hardly able to do
anything a few days ago. Just opening the control panel
took 5 minutes or so. I dont know if pulling out the CMOS
battery for a few minutes or so would do anything?
Possibly doing something with the jumpers on the
motherboard? I dont believe that it the power supply. Im
somewhat computer literate, and have checked for ad ware
and viruses that may have been causing this, and didnt
not find any. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try disconnecting any type of peripheral or device
attached to your computer. Connect only mouse, keyboard,
and monitor. The install often stalls when extra devices
are connected. Reconnect them once Windows XP is
finished installing and run setup disks.
