Hardware installation for Windows XP

I was wondering if there is any way to install the XP operating system into
the system cache rather than the Hard Drive. I currently have other memory
and cache chips that can hold 5GB of data. Or if there is anyway to just
install the XP operating system into the ROM itself rather than on the hard
drive. Thus speeding up my operating system by a couple of times and
reducing the hard drive wear and tear. Maybe if I can install Windows in
other places rather than on my hard drive, would it be possible to lock up
the ROM or the other drive that run Windows separately so that no hacker
could modify the main system files? I would appreciate any help that I could
get back on this.

Probably not since Windows XP is supposed to install into a hard drive.
But there are some solid-state hard drives that behave just like ATAPI-
IDE hard drives. This would be the better route to pursue. While this
would benefit the speed aspect of running Windows, the solid state HD
is just as vulnerable as its conventional brethren because data must
be written to it (e.g., the Registry) and system files updated from
usage. If one really wants to do it, one could always re-build the
system partition from a read-only source (e.g., DVD-R) prior to each
bootup.
