First off, Let's just say the last time I had this problem I had to buy a new
motherboard and processor, because the old one got fried. I built the entire
machine from computer show parts, and it has served me well for over 4 years
now.
Now for my problem:
World of Warcraft, you heard of it? Well I will use it as main example. I
can start it up and use it fine, and after about 5 minutes of being in-game,
my computer makes a click-noise and then makes the restarting sounds
(internally everything is restarting) but the moniter is frozen, as is the
mouse and keyboard. Is there a way of finding out the problem? I have been
playing the game since May and I upgraded the video card in August. This just
recently started to happen. Also, it would sometimes happen even if I am just
web browsing, and once it happened when I was doing nothing at all. It also
happens when I try to rip cds to my hard drive for use in my mp3 player. Any
ideas? Like I said the last time it happened it was 2 years ago and it used
to do it literally every 3 minutes, whether or not I was doing anything with
the computer at the time.
I am wondering if it's a memory/video card/cooling problem. I have run
various memory tests and they all passed, so I guess I can rule that out. Is
there any way I can set my BIOS to make performance run better? It is very
annoying and I hope I didn't fry another processor.
