Harddrive Copy

Whats wrong with my drive, i can copy stuff to the drive but when i try
to copy or run something of the drive my machine freezes and then a
blue screen comes up doing a physical memory dump.

Even when i try to run scandisk it gives me the same blue screen.

How can i get the stuff off the drive so that i can format it.

Please help!!!!

Not much to go on without more information about the drive.
Is it installed, set up and configured properly? Formatted?
What file system? What are the error messages? And so on.

Remove the drive, put it in a USB external HDD enclosure, plug it into
another machine and copy the required data.
