Hi,

Im having problem with my HDD I get an error saying.

"The request can not be performed because an I/O device error"

Does this mean my harddisk is dead and I can no recover any my data? It was
working ok then the computer just would not pick it up. The HDD is making
funny noises..

Any help would be great

Cheers

Go to the hard disk manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic software
respective to your hard disk. After the test, you will know if the hard disk is bad or
not..

Quantum/Maxtor - PowerMax

Western Digital - Data LifeGuard Tools (DLGDiag)
