I have had 30GB harddisk for a long time now and i had it partitioned 20:10
to separate my documents and program files.
I now have a new harddisk that i now use for my documents.
my question is, now i am running out of space with programs getting ever
larger, can i easily install them onto the other partition without any
problems, or can i combine the partitions without losing any settings or
data. I would like to know if i can do this with a minimum of fuss because i
know it'll take me forever to backup my files and format and reload.
if there is a way then thank you in advance!!

Yes, if you install (as long as they are new) programs on your PC, yopu can make the directly on the partition you wants. Windows will remember that path. You cannot change the current path of currently installed programs without making a lot of changes to the directory. If you want a program that will combine the two partitions into one (if that is your desire), you can get a good trial version of a good disk manager; BootIt NG
