Hard space in word

In wordperfect I know it as a hard space. It is a space you put in between
dates to keep them on the same line. New help with the same instruction in
Word.

Just by the way, Word (and many other contexts) refer to it as a nonbreaking
space, also available via Insert | Symbol, Special characters. You might
want to explore that dialog a bit.
