My internet service sent me a free Logitech web cam. I installed the
software and plugged in the camera but it keeps saying the camera is not
connected. The computer also keeps telling me it has found new hardware. I
went to the Control Panel and tried to open Add Hardware but it said that it
can't open until the new hardware has been finished being installed. Can
anyone help me?

The drivers may not have installed correctly. Right click on "My
Computer", click on "Properties", click on "Device Manager". Are there
any devices showing an error? A fix is to remove the device from the
computer. In this case unplug the camera's cable. Uninstall the driver
set (Logitech software). Reinstall the Logitech software then plug in
the camera. It is rare but occasionally even Windows XP requires a
reboot after an installation. If the drivers are correctly installed
Windows will automatically find the device and use the drivers
installed. If the camera is a USB device you may have to install USB
Host Controller drivers as well (under "Universal Serial Bus
Controllers" in the Device Manager List).
