Hard Drive Trouble

I have one computer where I assume that the hard drive
has gone bad. The computer cannot see the hard drive.
Well, I wanted to test to see if it was actually dead, so
I took the hard drive out of that computer. I then
plugged it into my other computer that was working just
fine. By accident, I removed the master drive on that
computer and plugged the bad hard drive in as the master
and not the slave. It didn't load. Then I plugged the
bad drive in as the slave, and it didn't work either.
The problem is though that now, when I plug my two good
hard drives back into the computer that was working, they
can't load. I am getting, please instert boot disk into
drive and press any key. It is now not booting off the
good hard drives. How can I get my computer to locate my
two hard drives. I haev accepted that my one drive is
dead. I just want my other computer to load. Thank you
so much.

Hello

Sounds like you may have to reload windows on the
drive, so set it up as a slave and back your data and
reload windows.

Things to check:
Be sure you connected the good drives to the ribbon cable correctly
(e.g. Blue is mother board, Black master, Gray is slave).
Check that all of the ribbon cables are seated securely.
Check that the jumpers are set correctly on the drives (boot drive
Master, other drive Slave).
Check that the power connecters are seated securely.
Does your BIOS see the drives?
