for hard drive speed (as measured by sustainable throughput), what's the
best available right now ? does scsi still rule ? how does sata match up ?
i see that 10k rpm is rare for sata.

who has got the best scsi u320 card and who has the fastest drives ? i
assume wd still rules ide.

The Maxtor Atlas 15K and the Seagate Cheetah 15K series are about as good as
SCSI gets. On the IDE side, WD has their Raptor 10K series, which bests the
former two in several benchmarks. (Storagereview.com)
Adaptec still makes good controllers.

Adaptec "seems" to be a market leader and their adapters have the most
currect drivers for most OSes.
