well my first hard drive always says its got between 1-20mbs, i never seem to
have more...i think theres a virus on it but im not sure, theres not enough
room to do certain stuff (eg. i cant install microsoft spyware tool, nothing
like that, nor yahoo messenger update) right now its 1.7mb and lowest iv ever
seen it since i installed has been 867kbs, which is very small lol...iv got
another hard drive, which doesnt do this, that stil says 65.9GBs, and thats
only changed when iv installed games and stuff, theres NOTHING installed on
the first hard drive except windows, and updates from the site, and a few
other stuff but nothings ever over 50mbs when installing...the hard drives
size is 3.25GBs, like i said theres hardly nothing on it but that, please
help me!

Its quite possible that windows is using all that space, with the basic
install, updates, pagefile & system recovery info. First try using disk
cleanup, right click on the C:\ drive go to properties and click the cleanup
button, you will see what is listed to be cleaned up leave it at default
first off. You can also remove all but the last restore point from there as
well & empty the recycle bin.

See what that get you.

SP2 is about 400M and I think it effectively duplicates the files so there's
800M. Have a look in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download
and don't forget you "my documents" folder is on C:\ unless you specify
otherwise.

Try Disk CleanUp to remove Temporary Internet Files and the System
Restore option in the More Option tab of Disk CleanUp.

You may be able to relocate folders / files to the second drive.

To move programmes use Add / Remove Programs in Start, Control Panel,
Add / Remove Programs to uninstall programmes. Create a Programs
Directory on your D drive and reinstall there.

Some other notes you may find useful.
Create a My Documents folder in another partition and copy ( not move )
the contents of My Documents to your new folder. Then delete the files
in your My Documents folder ( if you encounter problems deleting use
Shift + Delete to bypass the Recycle Bin ). You will also need to
change Default File locations in the Microsoft Office programmes you
use. For Word go to Tools, Options, File Locations, highlight Documents,
click on Modify and change file path. For Excel go to Tools, Options,
General and change default file path.

For Temporary Internet Files select Start, Control Panel, Internet
Options, Temporary Internet Files. Settings, Move Folder.

To move the Outlook Express Store Folder select in Outlook Express
Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder, Change.
