I recently took a backup of my laptop harddrive and restored it onto a
bigger one, and slapped the bigger drive into my computer. I have recently
noticed that if i look at the free space it only show the size of the old
drive, however if I use the manage function in XP the entire size of the
drive is shown. Is there a way this can be fixed.

Thnks
Mike

Whats interesting is that in the manage section all of the space is listed.
I wonder if I ever get to that point which figure is correct.

Thanks
Mike

I have seen similiar behaviour while replacing DELL hard drives. The
original is a 20 G and they send out a 40 G replacement. I usually just
"manage" the drive with the additional space as a second partition with the
next drive letter. I do not know of a way to reclaim all the space within
the same partition. I have been told that Drive Magic or Spin Right will
accomplish this, but it is hearsay. I shy away from using Drive Magic to
mess around with the active system boot partition.
