Too many times a day I make attempts to access AOL using
a dial up modem using Windows XP Home, and my hard drive
freezes. The only way I get past this delima is to power
down the hard drive and start over again. Sometimes the
dialer will go thru , other times I end up powering down
the hard drive three or four times before I get
connected. I am so frustrated by this problem I have
done defrag, disk cleanup, driver updates, removed
peripherals, restored access numbers, installed,
uninstalled AOL versions, and everything else. I call
AOL, they tell me to call HP. I call HP they tell me to
call AOL.
Any recommendations? Ann

are you talking about an external harddrive?
What do you mean by "drive freezes"?
