hard drive when I have no disk..I have the authenication sticker on the
computer but no disk...

If your computer came with a hidden partition on your old hard drive
(popular with many OEM suppliers) you won't be able to use the license that
is on the sticker. The license provided on the computer's sticker will
normally work with only the version of Windows XP that was installed on the

"Restore partitions" and not shipping the media by default is a corner
cutting practice -- your computer's manufacturer has those items and you can
get them if you ask. Contact them and ask for either a Windows installation
CD or restore disc. They should send you one for a small S&H fee.

I have about 5 computers that refuse to reboot...attempts to use recovery
disc don't work either.....I have made startup disc, etc however no avail. As
for getting the software...some of the manufacturesr I can't even figure out
and the bigger resellers like TigerDirect hardly respond to any inqyuirese
anyboy...can't get them to fix things that are in warranty must less
something 3 to 4 years old....I guess in future will demand the xp software...
