Hi,

I posted this in General, but no answers, sorry to post in two newsgroups
instead of one. I know I have seen people put up links for such tools in
General, but will give Hardware a shot.

I remember someone posted some links for some nice powerful tools for HHD
recovery. Tools that can try to repair partitions, MBR, file retrieval,
etc. If anyone remembers those links, can you post them for me please.

I don't remember them but I made a note of some:

http://www.restorer2000.com/r2k.htm (to restore NTFS partitions)
http://www.hddrecovery.com.au
http://bootmaster.filerecovery.biz (has NTFS undelete tools too)
http://www.runtime.org/ (GetDataBack)
www.acronis.com (RecoveryExpert)

Hi,

Thank you. I will look into those. I have a HDD that has 3 partition, one
died and I want to try to recover some of the data on it. Once done, will
replace the HDD, but still want to try to recover some data.

Hi,

I got the Restorer 2000 Pro program after trying the Demo, it is a nice
program, was able to recover all the data files from the HDD with the
partition completely destroyed. Thank you for the suggested links. I would
recommend the Restorer 2000. Its easy to use and does a very good job.

Thanks for the feedback. You might now want to review
your backup strategy: All important files must be backed
up to an independent medium at least once a week . . .
