Help
I am running XP SP2. I have started to experience hard disk problems ie
windows does not start I have a seagate 120 gig with three partitions 0 and 1
are NTFS and 2 is a FAT partition. I have run various programs and they tell
me partitions 0 and 1 have file structure problems. I have run CHKDSK a
number of times, but I have no idea how to resolve the file structure
problems. Can anyone help?

Contact Seagate for a replacement of your hopefully "under warranty"
defective hardware?
If not under warranty - BACKUP and REPLACE now!

Dear Peter, I have setup my hard drives exactly the way
you have and have had no trouble whatsoever. Maybe on
could say your problem could be the Seagate drive as I
use a Maxtor, but it has to be deeper than that. When you
installed SP-2 did you have Windows Updated before
loading Sp-2? Another thought is maybe going to the
Seagate site and downloading the Seagate utility file so
you can check if your hard drive is sick or not, but be
very carefull when using this program. You must read
every screen before proceeding to the next step because
if you don't you could reformat your hard drive by
mistake. Another option you do have is to Go to Microsoft
and download the complete SP-2 ( if you on dial-up forget
it) burn it onto a cd and then do a full gut and clean on
your system and start from scratch. My reasoning behind
this is maybe you have something on your system that is
causing your conflict. Even though this reply has been
long winded I hope that it might be of some help to you.
If you have anymore questions please contact me via email.
