Hello everyone,

I have just had a problem with my xp install and i chose
to do a repair operation on it using my original disc.

Now, xp will not see my 160 gig data drive when booted
and there is so much valuable info on there....i simply
cannot emphasize how much sentimental info is there.

The drive is not faulty at all.

Help.
..

OK, I understand your frustration, but please keep it to one post. Are
you able to take this harddrive to a friends and plug it into his
computer? Try booting off his XP and browse onto your harddrive. If
you are using NTFS, you may need to allow him to take ownership or at
least add his User SID to the drive in order to browse onto it.

When you repaired XP, you didn't select anything during the partition or
format options did you? They shouldn't have even appeared if you did a
repair. I would not run scandisk or anything on this until you have
tried the above idea. If it doesn't find anything, you may want to get
a data recovery program.

Whilst scrolling through the ng I see you've created umpteen new posts on
the subject.

I simply cannot emphasize how important it is to back
up important files to an independent medium once every
week. If these files mean so much to you, why don't
you spend a small amount of money to secure them?

Why don't you read the responses to your other "numerous" posts on the same
problem?
