Hi Group,
I just got a new Dell XPS. About 1 time out of 3, it hangs up on the Dell
opening screen. The little progress bar goes about 2\3 of the way and stops.
Then I have to do a hard shutdown and start over. Any ideas how to fix this
would be appreciated.

Hi

Have you contacted Dell to see what they say - the problem could be hardware
related.

Before you start tinkering call Dell Tech. Support and let them solve it. If
you make changes and Tech. Support becomes aware of this and they may not or
will not help you.

Thanks for your replies. I'm not sure my patience or sanity is up to dealing
with Dell support.

Hi

If it is hardware related, then if the PC is new, it should still be under
warranty.

If your willing to try and realizing that I would recommend a full image
back up before you begin.
It looks like you may have a driver issue.
If you can get the PC to boot then go the Video Card manufactures web site
and download the latest drivers.
Also download drivers for all other devices (Sound Card, Etc.).
Install/upgrade one drive at a time, starting with the video card and see if
the problem is fixed.
