Hanging on startup

Hi All,
Can someone help me? For some reason, ever since I got
6.2, about 90% of the time, the program "hangs". That
is, it starts to log in, I get the actual messenger tab,
but the other tabs do not appear, and the thing doesn't
do anything. I am forced to alt-del and end the process.

Now, about 10% of the time, it will log in after a long
wait.

I used to have this problem with 6.1 but there was a
registry fix, and after doing it a couple times, I was
able to log in fine. This one is causing headaches.

Please help. Thanks.

Greetings Bob,

You may need to completely remove your Messenger settings to solve this. To do so, close MSN
Messenger if it's running by right-clicking the Messenger icon in the notification
area/system tray, by the clock and choose Exit. Then, click Start, then Run,
then type:
%appdata%\microsoft
and click OK.

Then right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete.

After this, start the registry editor by clicking Start, then Run, type "regedit" and then
click OK. Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger key (they look
like folders), click the MSNMessenger key, then choose the Edit menu, and then choose Delete.

Then, restart Messenger and see if the problem has been corrected.
