Hanging application

I have a small program that allows me to access a BBS at a local retailer
(Spruce Computer Systems). Everything works fine until I log off and
disconnect. I can hear the modem click, but it stays busy.
Bringing up task manager there is an application "objproj" that is not
responding. End task and everything is fine.
Event viewer and Error Log both show:
Hanging application cai.exe, version 2.0.0.1, hang module hungapp, version
0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
This program runs fine on my Win98 puter with the exact same modem. No other
problems with the modem.
I tried Program Compatibility Manager to set it back for 98 and 95. No luck.
Cant find anything on google for objproj or cai.exe, nor in the Knowlegde
Base.
Any help?

Tried the modem manufacturer's WEBsite - for an XP driver?
