My XP Home Edition system hangs for about 90 seconds when
Windows checks what drives and folders are available
(i.e. when opening My Computer, or trying to locate a
folder other than My Documents for a Save-As). My guess
is that there is an unresponsive resource that must time-
out before Windows moves on.
The problem does not exist when accessing "History," "My
Documents," "Favorites," or "Desktop" (the left pane
defaults) or when the computer is booted in Safe Mode.
Any ideas?
