Had to do non destructive system recovery and lost ALL updates for xp

How do I know which ones to download? I did the non destructive recovery and noticed all of my updates are gone. I was installing a scanner that was not compatible with xp and could not get the cable to go on, my brother fixed that but went into EXPLORER and deleted a critcal service pack and OTHER THINGS... WHY?? I DO NOT KNOW!! HELP??!!
 
Download SP1 first.... and then check at WindowsUpdate for the rest. Yes,
doing a Repair Installation removes all Updates.... this is normal behavior.
