I'm trying to get a Grand theft auto demo to work on
windows xp, but it just dosn't work. How do I get it to
work.
 
No offense, but that's like saying "I'm trying to get my
TV to work, but it just doesn't work. How do I get it to
work?"

Nobody can help you from that amount of information.
Some things to include are:

What exactly happens when you try, including any error
messages.
What you've tried.
What the hardware on your computer is.
If it has ever worked.
If there are any error messages in the Event Viewer.

What happends is when I adjust the resolution settings or
use the compatibility wizard it dosn't even install the
demo. The screen blinks because the screen resolution is
changing but it dosn't start the setup process. When I
looked for it in task manager I found the setup file but
it's not showing it to me.I have a compaq presario
6000,2.0 ghz, 32 mb geforce invidia graphic card. I tried
to make it work on my older computer which has windows
2000 on it and the setup screen popped up but stoped in
between the setup. I hink this happend because it's only
300 mhz, but it still dosn't even pop up on the compaq.
It starts to unpack and all of a sudden after it's done
no setup screen pops up.
