I do not care for the automatic grouping default in Outlook 2003. Is there a
way to turn this feature off as a default? I would prefer that this feature
is not used unless I want to utilize it.

You'll need to customize the view. Reset the views to default (start menu,
run, type outlook.exe /cleanviews) then customize the Messages view (not
<current view>) to remove grouping. Browse Views, Arrange by, customize, to
find define views.

Yes, it works for the reading pane too... if you never ever want the reading
pane, you can start outlook with the /nopreview switch and remove it from
the menus.

see if these directions help....

Ms. Poremsky,
This seems to only work for one folder at a time. How can I make this
apply
to all folders? I don't see "define views" after following "View,"
"Arrange
By," "Custom." Am I in the right place?

Also, can the same be applied to the reading pane? I would like that
turned
off for all as a default as well.

Thanks for your assistance.
