group/ungroup feature excel 2003

Is there anyway to permanently lock the "Group/Ungroup" feature so
that it is permanently inoperative.

It is a pain in the ass.

you could protect your worksheet and uncheck this option in the
protection dialog

I just now looked in the "protection" dialog box.

There is no option for "group/ungroup"

sorry. this should be the option 'Edit objects'. But have you tried
protection your workbook? You should not be able to use outline

To add another layer of protection, you can disable the group symbols from
even being displayed at all by :

<Tools> <Options> <View> tab,
And *uncheck* "OutlineSymbols".
