group records in a query

Hi
Got the following query
Ref Inv No Rent School
ST413 2398 £465.41 £500
ST387 2399 £500 £250
ST413 2405 £100 £250

How do I group on the Ref field and at the same time Sum the Rent & School
fields. I don't need the Invoice number just need totals per Ref. (Can do it
via reports but need it in a query if possible) thanks Tim
 
1. Create a query into this table.

2. Depress the Total button on the toobar (upper sigma icon).
Access adds a Total row to the grid.

3. In the Total row under the Ref field, accept Group By.

4. In the Total row under Rent and School, choose Sum.
