Hi guys, wonder if you've come acrross anything like this.
I've got Win2k and WinXP clients connected to some Win2k Servers, all using
Active Directory and all that stuff. The Org Units for the PC's are set up
as a "Company Computers" Org Group with "XP Computers" and "2000 Computers"
sub-org units, so that it is easy to set up any O/S specific settings (by
using the sub-units) as well as the global settings (using the Company
Computers group).
Its all being working fine, been using the group policy's and had log-in
scripts and other settings, some in the top group filtering down to the sub
ones and others just in the sub-groups.
Now the problem is that I've just tried using the Software Installation part
under "Computer Configuration" in the group policy's, and added a couple of
msi files. Now when a Win2k client reboots it installs fine, however when a
WinXP client does it doesn't seem to do anything.
I've tried it from the top group and also directly into the "XP Computers"
Org Group.
Has any one had this problem before? Any ideas?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Cheers
Phil
