OK, I'm confused...

I *think* I've figured out how to correctly use group policies to set my
environments, etc.

HOWEVER, Do I have to create or copy these group policies to every PC on
the network???
Or.... can I copy the Group Policy to a share on the server?? If so, where
do I copy it?
Or.... am I supposed to create a group policy *ON* the server?

I'm making progress here, but still haven't made to where I need to be...

Sorry, I should have specified that.

I manage two networks in two different buildings. One is a WinSrv2003 AD
and the other is a Workgroup with an XP Pro machine as my "server".
(...don't ask...I didn't want it this way... :( )

Are you running an Active Directory Environment? i.e. a Windows 2000 or
2003 domain? If so, the Group Policy can be applied to an Organizational
Unit (OU) which contains all the computers on your network (or those that
you wish).
In a workgroup environment, the answer is "Yes, you will have to apply it
individually to each computer..."

Hi Brian,

Thank you for posting!

For the environment with Windows 2003 AD, you can apply the Group Policy to
OUs. You can manage it by Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). GPMC can
be downloaded from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0A6D4C24-8CBD-4B35-
9272-DD3CBFC81887&displaylang=en

For the environment with Windows XP Professoinal workgroup, I am afraid
that you have to copy the policy files and folders to the location I
mentioned before...

Have a nice day!
