Hi:
Running Word 2002.
When I insert a table, the gridlines print. I want them
not to print.
I go to Tables>Hide Gridlines, but that has no effect on
the screen or on the printed copy.
I can't find anything in Page Setup, although I think
there was something in my old version of Word that dealt
with the gridlines.

Any help? Thanks,

Bob Adler.

Those are not gridlines but a border. Select the entire table
(Alt+double-click), go to Format | Borders and Shading, and choose None (or
click the No Border button on the Borders palette on the Formatting
toolbar). A shortcut is to press Ctrl+Alt+U. For more, see
