I want to default to gridlines on any spreadsheet that I
create. How do I change my default to allow this?

Do you mean the guide gridlines, or the gridlines that
print out? To have your spreadsheet open with the grey
guide gridlines, go to Tools, Options, View, and select
Gridlines. For the printed gridlines, it is better to put
those in yourself after the creation of the spreadsheet -
you don't want every cell outlined throughout the
spreadsheet - that takes up memory, and unless you define
the print area, would print out excess pages.

Hope this helps,

Carole

If you set up your sheet with file/pagesetup and select the 'sheet' tab and
check gridlines, you will print the gridlines on that sheet. If you save that
sheet as (??) workbook.xlt and/or sheet.xlt (??) in the start xl directory,
you should get that all the time.

This may be part or parts of what you want to do.

HTH ... and that someone that knows exactly the names and where you put the
files will tidy this suggestion up :)

Thanks
