when i paste data from another workbook, sometimes even from anothe
sheet within the same workbook and sometimes even resulting from
calculation, A GREEN TRAINGLE appears in top left corner of cell (eve
all the cells in the column with numbers). The result of this is tha
any subsequent use of this data in other calculations causes erro
messages. I know i can swithc the green triangle off so it does no
appear, but the error messages are still generated when the data i
udsed. The only way i have found around the problem is to reente
manually each piece of data. This gets very time consuming. Can any on
offer a method of corecting the problem or maybe even stopping it fro
happening in the first place.

It happens even when i Edit,Paste Special, Values any data i brin
over.

Hoping for some help

Try putting the number 1 in a cell, then copy it.
Select the range of numbers you are having trouble with and then choose:
Edit | Paste Special, Multiply.

If that doesn't work, check out the Value formaula in the Help Files.
=VALUE(A1), should return a numeric value for your cell, if Excel can
reconize it as a number). You can copy the fomula down, copy the Formulas and
choose Edit | Paste Special, Values.
